Junior Schools Arts Workshop Days
Spring Term 2012
Zip’s professional team of 4 spend a day working with the whole of KS2, with school staff support, culminating in a show and share performance at the end of the day. If space allows it is possible for children in Key Stage 1 to enjoy the performance at the end of the day.

The Ancient Greeks and the Olympics
looking at the origins of the Olympic Games in a fun way with everyone working
towards a show and share performance at the end of the day.
Internet safety and cyber bullying
An accessible, informative programme that offers coping strategies
and thoughtful, child-
The Story Fun Store Literacy Workshops
Using drama, dance and music to dramatise two traditional
children’s stories -
The Monster Journey Workshop
The story of Odysseus and the Cyclops, specially adapted for children
and presented using drama, dance and music.
Introduction to Shakespeare
Witches, ghosts and a swordfight – a gripping introduction,
based on Macbeth, using accessible language and an exciting dramatisation.
Ananse The Spiderman
A spellbinding introduction to the storytelling culture
of Africa and the Caribbean.
Work on other themes can be tailored on request.
Each day is divided into 5 workshop sessions.
Workshops take place in the school hall or gym.
The final session is the show and share performance.
Lesson plans and suggestions are provided for school staff
to use in preparation for the day, or to work on with children
during the 3 sessions that they are not with Zip’s team.
